I've gone apron crazy!

This is my test apron lol! I have another one that will be red and green with of course, STRAWBERRIES! :) My other pattern finally arrived so now I need to go buy some fabric for that. (or hunt down a vintage bedsheet I have around here someplace!)

This was super easy to make and the pattern was easy to follow. The fabric cost me about $5-$7 but I could have done it for less. I made it 11 petals instead of 6 so it is Plus Sized AND will wrap around my hips (where I tend to wipe my hands while cooking). It was a great starter pattern. Dh even "let" me use his Rowenta iron (I am not allowed to use this one for "crafts" because I yucked up his last couple on experiments in my scraproom!) :P

Oh and I found this extra foot for my sewing machine in it's box. I had completely forgotten about it. Anyone have any idea what it's for??

  2. possibly a seam tape guide…. or just a wider open foot for the larger stitches.

  3. Your apron is so cute!! Looks like it would be pretty easy to figure out even without a pattern. Were the scallops a pain in the butt?

  5. Val, No they actually weren't that bad even on my old sewing machine. the arc is just wide enough not to be too difficult. Cutting them was a pain though. + I needed a new blade in my rotary cutter so that made everything 2x as hard!

  6. Super cute apron! Might have to give this one a whirl since you had sucess making it plus size with, seemingly, not much trouble.

Can't wait to see the strawberry print one!

  7. Kristi, no trouble at all!! I don't think you even need to increase the amount of fabric it calls for if you don't mind repeating some of the prints! The tie length is VERY generous (I actually shortened mine a bit).
