Now, where are my mice?!

I've had these paper mache pumpkin forms kicking around for a couple years. I had grand plans to turn one into a stage coach. (One of these days I WILL make one though!)

As you can see from the link to the paper mache forms, their stems are pretty boring. I decided to get out my paper clay and make some proper stems on them. I painted and stained the stems and gourds with several layers of mica powders and mists giving them a haunting glow in candlelight.

The leaves were cut using the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge. I used paper from two Echo Park collections; Victoria Gardens and Apothecary Emporium for the leaves, patches and tags.

  2. I saw these on Pinterest too and I pinned them. I just love them. I am not sure that I am up to making my own pumpkins but I have some super lame store bought ones that need some Apothecary Emporium help. LOL! Now I just have to get another pack of Victoria Gardens because I already want to copy one of your layouts and now I MUST have those leaves - seriously, Heidi, these are stunning. And yes, they need some little mice.

  4. @susan I saw someone using their dried pumpkin stems for crafting on pinterest. So that is an option for next year if the paper clay isn't your thing. ;) I will be saving a few myself!

  6. WOW!!! Now THAT is a true talent my friend. Your work never ceases to amaze me! Can I just come hang out on your craft space and just soak up some of that raw talent of yours? I have yet to see you make something that isn't a jaw-dropper. You have so much beautiful work that you could write your own craft book.

  7. So incredibly amazing! I love how you see just how to add those special details into any project you do. This one is no exception from the stitching to the tags and just the right amount of wrinkles in the leaves! LOVE LOVE them! What a fun project to enJOY this Halloween!

  9. Very creative Heidi! I love the green Victoria Gardens paper for the leaves, I think that is what the designer had in mind when she made it :) I really like the stems, they add a lot of character to the pumpkins
